Press Release -- October 19, 2010
TRAFFIC ALERT - Route 1 Lane Closure Postponed

Scheduling Conflicts Change Closure Date to October 27

Indian River -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) advises motorists that work will be occurring in the vicinity of the Indian River Inlet Bridge on October 27, 2010. Please note this work was anticipated to occur on Wednesday, October 20, but due to a scheduling conflict with the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), the work was postponed until October 27. The raindate for the work will be Thursday, October 28, 2010.

This work will require there to be a right lane and shoulder closure of Route 1 northbound over the Indian River Inlet Bridge on Wednesday, October 27 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. This closure is needed to allow DNREC to make repairs to their sand by-pass system. DelDOT's bridge inspectors will also be on hand with an under bridge inspection vehicle to assist in this task. The work is expected to only take 30 to 60 minutes to complete. Route 1 southbound will not be impacted by this work and will remain open at all times.
