TRAFFIC ALERT - Southbound Lane Closure on Approach to the Indian River Inlet Bridge

Dover -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) advises motorists that beginning Thursday, March 17, crews will begin construction work on a southbound lane on the approach to the Indian River Inlet Bridge, which will result in a lane closure.

The construction will consist of driving sheet piles and the temporary shoring of the existing roadway for the upcoming excavation in preparation for the construction of the new approach to the Indian River Inlet Bridge replacement whose actual construction is scheduled to begin later this summer. Lane closure is expected to continue until mid-May.

Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling in this area and allow extra time to reach their destination.
