Approximately 100 feet North and South of the existing structure.
The existing corrugated metal pipes (CMPs) are corroded at the waterline, with some locations of 100% section loss. The pipes were rated as Structurally Deficient (NBI=4) during the 2016 inspection, so the bridge was selected by the DelDOT Bridge Management System for work.
This project involves the replacement of BR 3 -681, which consists of three corrugated metal pipes (CMPs), with new reinforced concrete pipes (RCPs). Additional work includes installation of riprap for scour countermeasures and reconstruct the approach roadway as needed. Work will be completed under a full road closure with vehicular detour.
