Purpose of Meeting:

To provide a regular forum for updates on construction activities through the life of the construction phases of the Blue Ball Properties Project.

Discussion:

Mark Tudor from DelDOT opened up the meeting thanking everybody for coming. He said this is the first construction working group meeting for the Blue Ball Properties Project. This group has been set up to provide a regular forum for updates on construction activities through the life of the construction phases of the Blue Ball Properties Project.

  • The first construction contract, US202 - West Side Improvements, is scheduled to start July 29th. The contractor is Mumford and Miller. The contract time is 281 Calendar Days. There should be minimal disruptions to the traveling public with the first contract, except for the continued closure of Rockland Road.
  • The early activities of the first contract will be construction of the stormwater management ponds and wetland mitigation site. This will require blasting. A meeting has been scheduled with the Alapocas Community tonight (July 25th) to answer questions about the blasting.
  • It is the intention that the construction working group will meet monthly. With that in mind, it was agreed that the last Thursday of Every Month at 3PM will be the date and time of the meetings. All meetings will be held at the on-site Construction Trailer right off of US202 south of the Blue Ball Dairy Barn. Therefore, the next meeting will be August 29th.
  • Construction is being managed out of DelDOT's North District Office. The Area Engineer is Vern Lawton. The DelDOT Project Engineer on site is Bill Stewart. Both can be reached at (302) 326-4400 until the on site construction trailer is established. The construction trailer phone number should be available by next meeting.
