Approximately 600 feet east and 250 west of the bridge along Robinsonville Road.
This bridge consists of three corrugated metal pipes. There is significant corrosion of the pipes with 100% section loss at some locations. In additional, the roadway curve approaching the bridge is substandard and a safety hazard. The bridge was selected by the Pontis Bridge Management System for work. It has a sufficiency rating of 68.6 and was ranked 45th in the 2013 DelDOT Bridge Deficiency List.
This project involves the replacement of three large corrugated metal pipes with a precast reinforced concrete frame structure. The eastern approach roadway will be slightly realigned and reconstructed to improve the curve radius. Guardrail will be installed and riprap will be placed in the stream for scour protection. The work will be performed under a full road closure with a detour.
