Approximately 350 feet East and West of the bridge.
This bridge is a set of two corrugated aluminum pipes that have significant corrosion at the waterline and 100% section loss at several locations. The existing pipes are structurally deficient and as a result have been selected for replacement. The bridge is ranked 28th on the DelDOT Bridge Deficiency List.
This project involves the replacement of the existing corrugated aluminum pipes with reinforced concrete pipes. Additional work includes the placement of riprap in the stream for scour protection, grading of stream banks and side slopes, and minor reconstruction of the approach roadway.
