NEW DETOUR ROUTES:
Westbound traffic on Chesapeake City Road will turn right onto Frazer Road, and will follow Frazer Road all the way to Route 40. They will take a left, and take Route 40 into Maryland, and take a left onto Rt. 213.
Existing detour signage for the Alternate Detour Route will take you the rest of the way back to Chesapeake City Road.
Eastbound traffic is being taken off of Steel Road and sent up (north) Knights Corner Road (to the west of Steel Road), left onto Elk Forest Road, and then a right onto Rt. 213. Traffic will then follow the Alternate Detour Plan to Rt. 40 and back around to Routes 896, 71, and then Chesapeake City Road.
Detour signage will be posted for motorists.

Monday, May 20 through Wednesday, May 22 (9 p.m. until 5 a.m.) Route 1 northbound will be closed immediately following the I-95 northbound exit ramp. All traffic will be detoured to I-95 northbound to Route 141 westbound, to I-95 southbound and back to Route 1 northbound.
Exit 4A/I-95 northbound to Route 1 southbound CLOSED until 6 AM on Wednesday, May 22. This closure is to reconstruct the right side of Route 1 southbound to the final configuration.
These closures are necessary for the installation of bridge girders over Route 1 northbound travel lanes.
Monday, May 20 through Wednesday, May 22 (11 p.m. until 5 a.m.), I-95 northbound and southbound will have three lanes closed beween Route 273 and Churchmans Bridge to place form work on a bridge over I-95.
Monday, May 20 through Friday, May 24 (9 a.m. until 3 p.m.) Closure of the left lane along Route 1 northbound to construct the column of a bridge pier.
