NEW DETOUR ROUTES:

Existing detour signage for the Alternate Detour Route will take you the rest of the way back to Chesapeake City Road.
Eastbound traffic is being taken off of Steel Road and sent up (north) Knights Corner Road (to the west of Steel Road), left onto Elk Forest Road, and then a right onto Rt. 213. Traffic will then follow the Alternate Detour Plan to Rt. 40 and back around to Routes 896, 71, and then Chesapeake City Road.
Detour signage will be posted for motorists.

Detour for weekend closure: All traffic on I-95 northbound destined for US Route 202 will be detoured to the Exit 8 Ramp to US Route 202 southbuond. At the bottom of the ramp, traffic will be directed to make a left onto US Route 202 northbound. (Pending weather conditions-if inclement weather the closure will be postponed until June 7.)
Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., right lane closures on Route 202 northbound/southbound in the area of the Route 202 bridge over I-95 for hauling of material and delivery of concrete and hot-mix.
Exit 8A CLOSED (Anticipated opening date end of May) on I-95 southbound to US Rt. 202/Concord Pike/Wilmington southbound for the construction of a new ramp, which will open May 2013. This closure will also provide the opportunity to reconstruct the existing ramp from US Route 202 SB to I-95 SB.
Primary Detour: Take Exit 8B SB I-95 to US Rt. 202 NB, make a right at Weldin Road, make a right at Foulk Road to US Rt. 202 SB to Wilmington.
Secondary Detour: Stay of I-95 SB to Exit A-B Delaware Avenue, go south on North Jackson St., make a left on 9th St., make a left at North Adams St., take the on ramp to I-95 NB, take Exit 8 Concord Pike-Wilmington.

These closures are necessary for concrete to the bridge deck and hot-mix paving.
Wednesday, May 29 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Thursday, May 30. Route 1 northbound will be closed immediately following the I-95 northbound exit ramp. All traffic will be detoured to I-95 northbound to Route 141 westbound to I-95 southbound and back to Route 1 northbound. The contractor will be installing bridge girders over Route 1.
Thursday, May 30 and Friday, May 31-Hours each night: 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. The right lane along I-95 southbound will be closed from Churchmans Bridge to the bridge over Route 1. These closures are necessary to place concrete for a bridge deck.
