State Agencies Sponsor 9th Annual Partners For Progress Summit
Dover --
Eight State of Delaware agencies have partnered together to sponsor the Annual Partners for Progress Summit being held on Thursday, August 7, 2008, at the Terry Campus of Delaware Technical and Community College. The Administrative Office of the Courts and the Departments of Transportation, Natural Resources and Environmental Control, Correction, Education, Finance, Management and Budget, and State are once again sponsoring this increasingly popular event.
The Summit is an excellent opportunity for state employees and members of the community to join with the Cabinet Secretaries for a half-day of thought provoking discussion on issues in the workplace and on the home front. "Relax...Embrace the Change" is the theme of this year's Summit.
Dr. Michelle R. Brown, Founder and President from Catalyst Enterprises International, will deliver the keynote address.
We are also pleased to have James L. Collins, the Director of the Division of Professional Regulation with the Department of State, share his thoughts on change and dealing with adversity. Mr. Collins is the founder of Principle Insights Consulting, and also serves as a motivational speaker and life coach for others.
In addition, Summer Jopp and Tracey Connolly, each trainers/educators with the State of Delaware will provide insights on workplace relaxation techniques. Specifically, they will demonstrate stress reduction practices that can be accommodated while standing or sitting at a workstation.
The Summit, held in the Educational Technology Building on the Terry Campus in Dover, starts at 8:00 a.m. with registration. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 12:30 p.m. A complimentary continental breakfast will be provided.
With the online registration deadline date of August 1 fast approaching, we will continue to accept registrations on a first come, first served basis. The Summit is free to attendees. You may register online at: http://portal.delaware.gov/partners/default.shtml. Directions to the Delaware Technical and Community College campus, and additional information are available on the Web site.
