TRAFFIC ALERT - Choptank Road Reconstruction Project
Bunker Hill Road & Old Schoolhouse Road Will Feel First Impacts
Middletown --
The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces daytime intermittent lane restrictions on Bunker Hill Road between Choptank Road and Route 301 for the realignment of the curve and construction of a traffic roundabout. The project will begin on Monday, June 25 and end in mid-December, weather permitting.
In addition, there will be daytime intermittent lane restrictions on Old Schoolhouse Road for the installation of crossroad pipes. This work will begin on Monday, June 25 and end on Friday, July 6.
This work is the first phase of the Choptank Road Reconstruction Project. Three roundabouts will be constructed on Choptank Road at Bunker Hill Road, Churchtown Road, and Bethel Church Road to encourage safety and discourage truck traffic. The reconstruction project is underway to allow Choptank Road to handle the increasing traffic demands of area development.
Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through the area and to expect lane shifts.
Traffic alerts and traveler information are available at www.deldot.gov or tune to WTMC-AM 1380.
