DelDOT's 2005 Toys for Tots Drive a Success!

Dover -- The Department of Transportation announces that a successful 2005 Toys for Tots Drive yielded 251 toys for local families.

The Department of Transportation encouraged employees to bring in a new, unwrapped toy for a child up to 16 years of age. Many employees did just that, while sharing the worthy event with their families. Children of employees were invited to sit on Santa's lap for a photo, chat with Santa, and enjoy light refreshments.

Gifts ranged from teddy bears to a bicycle.

The toys were given to the Central Delaware Detachment Marine Corps League who will ensure the toys are delivered to area children before the holidays.

This is the tenth consecutive year DelDOT has partnered with the Marine Corps League on the Toys for Tots Program. In 2004, DelDOT collected and donated just over 250 toys.
