Completion of Dirt Road Project for South District

Completion of Dirt Road Project for South District involved placing tar and chip surface materials on dirt roads, so that every dirt road in south district could be paved.

This project also included:

  • The end of a 60 year effort to eliminate all dirt roads in the state system
  • Utilization of hot mix millings from construction projects to save money
  • Use of traffic alert system to keep community appraised of impacts
