Bridges-Rehabilitation Award Bridge 575 on North Market Street
| Bridge 575 carrying North Market Street over the Brandywine River was a rehabilitation project involving a historic bridge in downtown Wilmington.
The project included:
- Team approach at all phases
- Appearance dramatically enhanced while preserving historical features
- Unique work platform to protect waterway from debris and\ to allow coordinated utility repairs
- An innovative design technique for removal of deck and rehab of the shear key due to 155’ cantilevered center span
- Recipient of NCC Historic Preservation Award
