Public Involvement - Design Phase
As part of the Public Involvement during the Design Phase of the Indian River Inlet Bridge Replacement Project, several activities were planned to stimulate interest in the project and to explain the process whereby the public would have a voice in the final desing of the bridge. Among these activities were the Design Charettes and the Public Information Workshops. The Design Charettes were daylong workshops where the Project Team presented preliminary information relating to the aesthetic design for the new bridge to gain participant preferences. After each item was discussed openly, participants voted to signifying their preferences on a particular aesthetic feature. The information was used by the Project Team to assist in determining those aesthetic items that should be carried forward into final design. The objective of the Public Information Workshops (during the Design Phase) was to provide general information regarding the replacement of the Indian River Inlet Bridge to the citizens of Delaware who live and work near the existing bridge site. The Public Information Workshops provided an open forum where DelDOT and the FIGG Team could interact with the Public to share ideas and present project progress reports. The following is a listing of the Public Involvement activities that took place during the Design Pahse of this project. Please click the links below for more information about a specific activity. |
