Claymont Transportation Plan

Public Workshop:

On October 28, 2009, DelDOT presented ideas to the public that create an affordable improvements along Philadelphia Pike that support the 2003 Claymont Transportation Plan, incorporate the April 2009 Executive Order for Complete Streets, and continue community and economic development objectives. This refined Claymont Transportation Plan includes the concept of reducing the 4 lane section of Philadelphia Pike from Harvey Road to Governor Printz to two travel lanes and a continuous two way left turn lane. Information was also provided on the community's efforts to improve the Train Station, and for improvements at the Manor Avenue and Commonwealth Boulevard Intersections with Philadelphia Pike. Finally, a potential implementation strategy was presented for the refined Plan. Comments regarding the plan are welcome and can be forwarded to the DelDOT project manager listed above.
