Brackenville Road - SR 41, Lancaster Pike to N258, Barley Mill Road
Project Limits:
The project includes work on Brackenville Road from Lancaster Pike to Barley Mill Road and on Barley Mill Road from Brackenville
Road to 1300’ south of the intersection.
Project Need:
The project needs include drainage improvements and safety. The drainage improvements needed include increasing pipe capacity
and collecting water from underground springs. The safety improvements needed include improving roadway geometry to reduce the
potential for run-off-the-road crashes, reducing the potential of roadway collapse from stream encroachment on the roadway,
and removing water from the roadway to prevent freezing during the winter.
Project Overview :
The project involves drainage improvements, pavement rehabilitation, and utility pole relocations along Brackenville Road from
Lancaster Pike to the sharp curve in the area of Ashland Nature Center. At the curve, the project includes drainage improvements,
pavement reconstruction, utility pole relocations, guardrail installation, slope stabilization, and stream relocation/restoration.
The intersection of Brackenville Road and Barley Mill Road will be reconstructed and drainage improvements will be completed. Work
on Barley Mill Road from Brackenville Road to 1,300 feet south of the intersection includes drainage improvements.
Current Construction Start Date:
The project is currently in final design. We anticipate contract advertisement in the fall of 2007.
