In New Castle County: Recreational Connectors: utilizing SR41, SR141, SR48; Regional Bicycle Routes: Newark to Delaware City along SR72, Newark to Wilmington; Recreational Bicycle Routes: utilizing SR15, SR42, CR202, US 13, Firetown Rd, Evans Rd, Tomahawk Rd, Williamsville Rd, Oak Rd; In Kent County: Regional Bicycle Routes along SR 6, SR8, SR10, SR12, SR14. In New Castle County: Regional Connectors utilizing State Routes: 92, 273, 299, 9, and Newark to Wilmington; Trails: Kennett Pike Greenway, Northern Delaware Greenway, C&D Trail. In Kent County: Recreational Connectors along Paddock Rd/Thoroughfares Neck Rd, SR42, US13, SR8, Barkers Landing Rd, Skeeterneck Rd., Milford Neck Rd., CR 409, CR 225, Oak Rd; Regional Bicycle Routes: on SR6, SR8, SR10, SR9, SR12, SR14; Statewide Bicycle Route: Bicycle Route 1. In Sussex County: Recreational Connectors utilizing Front Street, CR62, CR331, SR27 and the American Discovery Trail; Regional Bicycle Routes: SR14/SR36 from Milford to Slaughter Beach, SR16 from Greenwood to Broadkill Beach, SR404 from Bridgeville to Georgetown, SR9 from Laurel to Lewes, SR 30 from Seaford/Blades to Millsboro; SR24 from Millsboro to SR1, SR26 from Dagsboro to Bethany Beach, SR54 from SR26 to SR54/Fenwick Island; Statewide Bicycle Route: Bicycle Route 1. Interstates 495 and 295; the C&D Canal (St. George's Bridge); Christiana River; Amtrak Northeast Corridor Railway underpass; Intersections of Kings Highway and US13 and Warner Road and US 113 have high traffic volumes with complex road geometry. No shoulders or designated travel lanes for bicycles; Georgetown Round-a-Bout
Delmar-Felton   41 Harrington in Kent County. Bridegville, Seaford, Blades, Laurel and Delmar in Sussex County. In Sussex County: Recreational Connectors utilizing SR279, SR289, Armington Rd, Williamsville Rd, CR61, US13, CR600, CR36, CR584, CR492, CR509, CR510; Regional Bicycle Routes: MD Border on SR14 to Harrington and Milford, SR16 from Greenwood to Slaughter Beach, MD Border to Bridgeville and Georgetown along SR18 and SR404, MD Border to Seaford/Blades and Millsboro along SR20, MD Border to Laurel and Millsboro on SR 24, and SR30 to SR26 and SR54 to Selbyville and Fenwick Island. Drawbridges over the Nanticoke River and the Broad Creek have no shoulders and no designated space for bicycle travel. Sidewalks are available for dismounted cyclists.

Newark to Wilmington via White Clay Creek State Park SR 2, SR 34, SR 48 to US 13 20 Newark, Stanton, Marshalltown, White Clay Creek State Park, Wilmington Regional Bicycle Routes: Newark to Delaware City; Maryland Border to Newark; Statewide Bicycle Routes: Bicycle Route 1; Recreational Connectors between Newark and Wilmington utilizing State Routes 41 and 141. Statewide Bicycle Route: Wilmington to Selbyville Traffic near Newark along SR 2. Traffic volumes as the route enters and travels through Wilmington. Intersections: Route 202/SR48 carries heavy traffic volumes and no shoulders; SR41/Faukland Road has a steep hill and no shoulders. Railroad crossings: Faulkland Road near Red Creek at grade crossing with no shoulders; Railroad bridge near Lancaster Ave restricts roadway.
MD Border to Bike Route 1 SR 273 at MD Border to SR 273/SR 141 16 Newark, Ogletown, Christiana, Pleasantville, New Castle Recreational Connectors in Newark utilizing SR896; Regional Bicycle Routes: SR2/SR896 to SR4/SR273; SR896/MD Border to Newark; SR9/SR896 to SR72/SR7; Statewide Bicycle Route: Bicycle Route 1. No shoulders and moderate to heavy traffic at I-95 underpass, SR273 south of underpass, intersection of SR273 and US13, Liberty Ave. and Marrows Road. Urban roads may include reduced typical sections and increased traffic volumes. Turn lanes and parked cars may conflict with bicycles traveling in shoulders.
Newark Circulator Newark SR 4 from SR 896 to SR 273 5 Downtown Newark Recreational Connectors utilizing SR896 and US 301; Regional Bicycle Routes: SR273/MD Border to Bike Route 1; MD896/MD Border to Newark;SR9/SR896 to SR72/SR7, Newark/SR2 to Wilmington. Local feeder network. Traffic volumes the entire length of the route are heavy. Streets are urbanized with driveways to access businesses and large, complex intersections. Right turn lanes at intersections eliminate the shoulder on which bicycles ride.
Brandywine to Naamans Corner US202/SR 92 to SR 92/US 13 6 Brandywine, Naamans Corner, Delaware River Recreational Connectors utilizing CR214 and SR3. Statewide Bicycle Routes: Wilmington-Selbyville. From the CSX rail crossing to Merribrook Road the shoulder is used by traffic to access businesses and residential subdivisions. The intersection of SR202 and SR92 is very complex.
Middletown to Odessa SR 71/SR 299 to SR 299/SR 9 7 Odessa, Middletown Recreational Connectors using SR1, SR13, SR71 and US301; Statewide Bicycle Routes: Bicycle Route 1 and Wilmington-Selbyville. Appoquinimink River crossing and surrounding wetlands; considerably narrowed roadway.
Delaware City to White Clay Creek State Park SR 9/ SR 896 To SR 72/SR 7 31 Newark, Delaware City Recreational Connectors using SR7, US40, Porter Road, SR71, and US13. Regional Bicycle Routes: SR896/2 to SR4/SR273; Statewide Bicycle Route: Bicycle Route 1. Reedy Point Bridge over the C&D Canal; traffic volumes crossing the White Clay Creek; The off-ramp from SR273 to Salem Church Road; no shoulders on SR72 between Webb Lane and I-95 and Paper Mill Road; Steep hill on winding road on SR72 southwest of SR7.
MD Border To Newark SR 896 to SR 2/SR 72 6 Downtown Newark, Main Street, University of Delaware Recreational Connector along SR896; Regional Bicycle Routes: SR72 from SR7 (north of Newark) to Delaware City, SR273/MD Border to Bicycle Route 1; Statewide Bicycle Route: Wilmington-Selbyville; Local feeder network. Intersections of SR2/SR4 and SR2/Main Street have no dedicated space for bicycles and active turning movements. Bridge of White Clay Creek has no shoulder. Bridge at the intersection of Capitol Trail and Possum Park Road is narrow with no shoulder. Marked bicycle lanes along SR896 between Murray Road and Delaware Avenue disappear.

MD Border to Slaughter Beach SR 14 at Maryland Border to SR 36 in Sussex County 24 Harrington, Houston, Milford, Slaughter Beach, Milford Neck Wildlife Area Recreational Connectors on Drapers Corners Rd, Andrewsville Rd, Farmington Rd, Hunting Quarter Rd, CR443, CR364, CR409, CR225; Statewide Bicycle Routes: Bicycle Route 1 and Wilmington-Selbyville. Majority of roadways are typical rural segments without shoulders except in municipal areas where shoulders are provided but on-street parking permitted. The intersection with US 13 features restaurants in the median. Ramps at the interchange at SR1.
MD Border To Port Mahon SR 8 to SR 15 to Port Mahon Road 28 Dover, Little Creek, Port Mahon Recreational Connectors utilizing CR67, CR66, CR206, CR220, CR198, Sharon Hill Road; Regional Bicycle Route: SR9 to Hummocks Bay. Statewide Bicycle Routes: Bicycle Route 1 and Wilmington-Selbyville. City of Dover there is traffic, on-street parking, shoulders used for through traffic. The intersection of SR8 and SR13 in Dover is a high-volume intersection with minimal shoulders on one side. City of Dover has multiple high-volume intersections.
MD Border To Dover Air Force Base SR 10 to US 113 19 Wyoming, Camden, Dover Air Force Base Recreational Connectors utilizing Lords Corner Rd, Chandlers Rd, Firetower Rd, US13. Statewide Bicycle Routes: Bicycle Route 1 and Wilmington-Selbyville. No major barriers.
MD Border To W. Frederica SR 12 to SR 12/CR 380 14 Felton, Frederica Recreational Connectors utilizing Two Mile Rd, Black Swamp Rd, Canterbury Rd. Statewide Bicycle Routes: Bicycle Route 1; route parallel to US 13 from Bicycle Route 1- south of Felton, and Wilmington-Selbyville. Intersection of SR12 and US13 near Felton contains turn lanes and access points that may conflict with bicycles.
MD Border To Woodland Beach SR6 to Woodland Beach 18 Clayton, Smyrna, Woodland Beach Wildlife Area Recreational Connectors utilizing SR42 and US 13. - Statewide Bicycle Routes: Bicycle Route 1 and Wilmington-Selbyville. Road has limited space for bicycle travel in wetland and beach areas . The intersection of SR6 and SR1 has two 10-foot lanes with turn lanes and no shoulders for bicycles to use. Where SR6 crosses SR9 into the Woodland Beach Wildlife Area, there are 4-foot shoulders on either side of the bridge.
NE Dover To Kitts Hummock/Delaware Bay SR 9/CR 337 to US 1 12 Little Creek, Little Creek Wildlife Area, Dover Air Force Base, John Dickenson Plantation, Kitts Hummock Recreational Connectors traveling west-east from SR9 on CR87 and SR8. Regional Bicycle Routes: SR8 from Dover to Port Mahon. Statewide Bicycle Routes: Wilmington-Selbyville. No major barriers.

SR30/US13 to Fenwick Island US 13/SR 30 to SR 54/SR 26, SR 54 to US 1 30 Selbyville, Bunting, Williamsville Cypress Swamp, Keen-wik, Fenwick Island Recreational Connectors utilizing US13, CR422A, SR17, CR390; Regional Bicycle Routes: SR26/SR30 to Millsboro and Dagsboro, SR20/54 to Dagsboro; Statewide Bicycle Routes: Wilmington-Selbyville and Bicycle Route 1. SR54 in area of Cypress Swamp has no shoulders or designated bicycle lanes.
MD Border to Bethany Beach SR 24 to SR 26. Follows SR 26 to US 1. 37 Laurel, Millville, Dagsboro, Ocean View, Bethany Beach Recreational Connectors utilizing CR509, CR 492, US13, CR449, CR437A, CR422A, CR346, CR347, CR352, CR359, CR361; Regional Bicycle Routes: West Milton to SR26/30 past Millsboro; Statewide Bicycle Routes: Delmar-Felton, Wilmington-Selbyville, Bicycle Route 1. No major barriers.
MD Border to Millsboro via Seaford and Blades SR 30 to US113/SR 24/SR 30. Follows SR 24 to SR 1 53 Seaford, Blades, Millsboro, Resort Area Outlet Malls Recreational Connectors utilizing CR78, CR536A, CR483, CR74, CR331, CR305, CR280B, CR279, SR1; Regional Bicycle Routes: US9 Laurel to Cape Henlopen, SR30/SR16 West Milton to SR30/SR26, SR5 Milton to SR23 Mossey Beach; Statewide Bicycle Routes: Bicycle Route 1, Wilmington-Selbyville. Urbanized roads in Seaford, Blades, Millsboro, and towards SR1 including increased traffic volumes, on-street parking, access points for businesses. Drawbridge across Nanticoke River has no shoulders. Railroad bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railroad has a small shoulder with limited line of sight.
Greenwood to Broadkill Beach SR 16/US 113 on SR 26 to Broadkill Beach 22 Greenwood, Ellendale, Pine Hook National Wildlife Refuge, Broadkill Beach Recreational Connectors utilizing CR600, US13, CR599, CR594, CR220, CR22B; Regional Bicycle Routes: SR30/24 to Millsboro; Statewide Bicycle Routes: Delmar-Felton, Bicycle Route 1, Wilmington-Selbyville. SR16 in Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge has no shoulders and has guard rails at the edge of the pavement. Intersections of SR 16 with US13, US 113, and SR1 are difficult with limited lane widths, turning lanes, business access points, and traffic volumes.
MD Border to Georgetown SR 18 to US113 20 Bridgeville, Georgetown Recreational Connectors utilizing CR558, CR30, US13, CR522, CR520; Statewide Bicycle Routes: Delmar-Felton, Wilmington-Selbyville. No major barriers.
Dagsboro to west of Fenwick Island SR 20/SR 26 to SR 20/SR 54 9 Dagsboro, Keen-wik, Fenwick Island Recreational Connectors utilizing CR370A, SR17, CR384, CR382A; Regional Bicycle Routes: SR30/US13 to Fenwick Island, SR26 to Bethany Beach; Statewide Bicycle Routes: Wilmington-Selbyville, Bicycle Route 1. No major barriers.
West Milton To Millsboro SR30/SR16 to SR30/SR26 26 Milton, Millsboro Recreational Connectors utilizing CR230, CR250, CR241, CR254, CR331, CR472; Regional Bicycle Routes: SR16 from Greenwood to Broadkill Beach, SR9 from Laurel to Lewes SR20 from Blades to Georgetown, SR24 and SR26 Laurel to Dagsboro. Bridge over Indian River has drainage grates in path of bicycle travel. Intersections of SR30 and SR24 and US113 and SR20 are high volume roads with heavy turning activity to businesses and cross-roads.
Milton to Rehoboth Bay SR 5 and SR 23 18 Milton, Rehoboth Bay Recreational Connectors utilizing CR250, CR257,CR259, CR354, SR23, CR305; Regional Bicycle Routes: US9 Georgetown to Lewes, SR24 Millsboro to SR 1; Statewide Bicycle Routes: Bicycle Route 1. No major barriers.
Laurel to Lewes US 9 from Laurel to Lewes 29 Laurel, Georgetown, Lewes Recreational Connectors utilizing Sycamore Rd, CR465, CR483, CR62, CR254, CR247, Kings Hwy; Regional Bicycle Routes: MD Border to Bethany Beach, SR20 from MD Border to Millsboro, SR30 Milton to Millsboro, SR5/SR23 to Rehoboth Bay; Statewide Bicycle Routes: Delmar-Felton, Wilmington-Selbyville, Bicycle Route 1; Feeder routes at Cape Henlopen. Bridges across Broad Creek and the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal are drawbridges without shoulders or designated bicycle lanes. -US 9 in Georgetown has increased traffic volumes, access points, turning movements, and sporadic shoulders or space for bicycles. - Traffic circle in Georgetown permits parking in outer lane.
