Welcome to the Delaware Department of Transportation’s virtual workshop. The goals of the virtual workshop formats are to make it easier for more people to view the project information, and to reduce the costs involved in traditional public workshops.
DelDOT is planning to install new concrete sidewalk on the north side of SR 273 from Old Baltimore Pike to Eagle Run Road to improve pedestrian connectivity between adjacent land uses. This project was recommended as part of the SR 273 Pedestrian Safety Audit completed in September 2011. These display plans show the proposed improvements, which include new concrete sidewalk along the north side of SR 273, some curb modifications, new curbing in select locations, and minor guardrail improvements. All improvements are contained within the existing DelDOT right-of-way. The project will require about 180 days to construct. Single lane closures on SR 273 will be needed in order to complete this work. Lane closures will only be permitted from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM during the week. At all other times, all lanes on SR 273 will be open to traffic.
