Milford Bypass Bridge Rehabilitation Work

The Department of Transportation began a major rehabilitation project at 5 a.m., on Monday, April 9, on the Route 113 northbound overpass in Milford between Route 1 and New Wharf Road.

The contractor, Daisey Construction Company, repaired the bridge deck, installed new guardrails, paved the road surface, and placed new striping. This rehabilitation work will prevent further deterioration to this important bridge. The overpass last received temporary improvements in 2001. The average daily traffic count at the site is just under 20,000 vehicles.

The $2.1 million project was scheduled during the Milford School District's "spring break" week to eliminate any complications for school bus routes and finished ahead of schedule.
