Delaware's Kids Get a Rare Glimpse at the Past

The Weldin Plantation Archaeological Site (1750 -  2003), located on the Blue Ball property off US202 and Foulk Road in Wilmington, is one of the many Archaeological Dig Sites the Delaware Department of Transportation has helped to unearth.

On many occassions during these Archaeological digs, the public is invited to join in and dig up a piece of Delaware History.

In this section of the Photo Gallery, we have a compilation of pictures from one of those tours, this time with some of the younger residents of our state.  What a great and unique opportunity for these children to not only participate in an actual archaeological dig, but to potentially find historical artifacts - a part of Delaware's rich history!

Thanks to DelDOT Photographer Tim O'Brien, we have a large number of photos from some of the children's tours of the Weldin Plantation Archaeological Site.  To the right, you will find links to the various sections of this Gallery piece, noted by event and group.  Enjoy!
