Georgetown Train Station Transportation Enhancements Project
Location: 140 Layton Avenue, Georgetown
Project Sponsors: Town of Georgetown and Historic Georgetown Association
Funding:
- TE Funds = $570,000
- Matching Funds = $143,000 (Delaware Community Foundation, state legislative funds, and volunteer labor)
- Total = $713,000
Features:
- Transportation museum and tourism facility located on first floor
- Interior and exterior renovations: 22,000 original paver bricks used to veneer the building exterior and loading docks; old floor joins salvaged to restore second story; best of salvaged 1865 lumber and wainscot used in the restoration
- Sidewalk and bike lane
- Park and ride facilities
