Longwood Gardens

Longwood Gardens is one of the world’s premier horticultural displays. This garden wonderland, created by industrialist Pierre S. du Pont, was purchased in 1906 to preserve its trees. He then embarked on designing a grand-scale 1,050-acre horticultural showplace. Enjoy Italian water gardens with elaborate fountains, outdoor ponds, landscaped meadows, a massive conservatory, breathtaking exhibits and du Pont interpretive displays.
