The Title VI Mission
To insure all management, staff, contractors, consultants, vendors, sub recipients, and service beneficiaries are informed, educated and assisted with the provision of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Title VI provides that no person shall be excluded from participation in, or is denied the benefits of, or is subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance from the Department of Transportation on the grounds of race, color, age, gender, or national origin.

What is Title VI?
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 provides: "No person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefit of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance." - 42 U.S.C.§2000d. It is the policy of DelDOT to insure compliance with these provisions.
What Is Federal Financial Assistance?
Federal financial assistance means more than just money. It is also aid that enhances the ability to improve or expand allocation of a recipient's own resources.
