The DelDOT Snow and Ice Control Volunteer Program enlists paid volunteers to assist the Delaware Department of Transportation in maintaining the roadways within the State should a snow/ice event occur. Volunteers are notified when they are needed. (Based on operational needs, there is a possibility that volunteers may not be called to assist during a snow/ice event.) Volunteers provide an important source of additional staffing power and are crucial to the safe maintenance of the State's roadways for the traveling public.

NOTE: Individuals are required to apply each fiscal year for snow/ice duty regardless of prior participation in the program.
