Hazard Elimination Program - Kirkwood Highway/Route 2, Wollaston Road to Woodmill Drive
Dover -- The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is holding a Public Workshop to obtain comments from surrounding businesses and the general public for the capital project along Route 2. The project limits will extend from Wollaston Road to West Huntington Drive. The workshop will be held on Monday, December 9, 2013, at Kirkwood Highway Library, 6000 Kirkwood Highway in Wilmington, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
The project is currently proposed to lengthen the left turn lane from eastbound Route 2 to Milltown Road. Some widening, curb and drainage work, and minor reconfiguration of the intersection of Route 2 and Delaware Park Road will be needed for the lengthened left turn lane. The road will be milled and overlaid within the project limits. These modifications are proposed to address safety concerns along Route 2 as well as left turn capacity onto Milltown Road. Additionally, pedestrian improvements will be made along the section of roadway.
Attendees will have an opportunity to review display materials and preliminary design plans on proposed improvements and provide comments to DelDOT representatives. Interested persons are invited to express their views in writing, giving reasons for support of or in opposition to, the proposed project. Comments will be received during the workshop or can be mailed to DelDOT Public Relations, P.O. Box 778, Dover, DE 19903, or sent via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
This location is accessible to persons having disabilities. Any person having special needs or requiring special aid, such as an interpreter for the hearing impaired, is requested to contact DelDOT by phone or mail one week in advance.
