TRAFFIC ALERT - Highway Safety Improvement Program for Route 52 and Route 82 Intersection Improvements Will Require the Closure of Kirk Road
Wilmington -- The Delaware Department of Transportation's (DelDOT) contractor, Zack Excavation, Inc. will begin work on Kirk Road as part of the Route 52 and Route 82 intersection project. Kirk Road between Kennett and Route 100/Montchanin Road will be closed beginning on Monday, December 2 through Monday, December 23.
The work will include the placement of drainage pipes, basins, and manholes at Kirk Road.
Local traffic from Route 100/Montchanin Road will be allowed to take Kirk Road up to Brookmeadow Road.
Kennett Pike southbound and Campbell Road eastbound traffic will go south on Kennett Pike to Buck Road, turn left onto Buck Road, then turn left again onto Route 100/Montchanin Road.
Traffic from Route 100/Montchanin Road southbound or Rockland Road will go south on Route 100/Montchanin Road to Buck Road, turn right and then turn right onto Kennett Pike.
Northbound traffic may take either Buck Road to Route 100/Montchanin Road or take Route 100/Montchanin Road directly off of Kennett Pike.
Variable message boards and detour signage will be posted for motorists.
Access to area residents will be maintained at all times during construction and emergencies.
