Capital Transportation Program Hearings Set
Dover -- Interested persons are encouraged to participate in the development of the state's six-year Capital Transportation Program (CTP) for Fiscal Years 2015 - 2020, by attending public hearings to be held in September. The hearings are jointly sponsored by the Council on Transportation and the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT).
The hearings provide an opportunity to review current and suggested transportation projects. The hearings also include capital investments for DART First State public transit and will be used to satisfy the public involvement requirements of Federal Transit Administration Section 5307. The public hearings will be held in an open house format, with a Court Reporter available to take public comment. Interested persons are also encouraged to submit written comments during the public hearing process.
* The first DelDOT public hearing will be held in conjunction with the Dover/Kent County MPO on September 23, 2013, from 4 - 7 p.m. at the DelDOT Administration Building, 800 Bay Road, Dover. DelDOT and the MPO will have project display boards and staff available for questions.
* The second DelDOT public hearing will be held in conjunction with Sussex County on September 25, 2013, from 4 - 7 p.m. at the DelDOT South District Administration Building, 23697 DuPont Boulevard, Georgetown. Project information will be displayed, and there will be opportunities for discussion with DelDOT and County representatives.
* The third DelDOT public hearing for New Castle County will be held on September 26, 2013, from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Kathleen H. Wilbur Elementary School, 4050 Wrangle Hill Rd., Bear. Project information will be displayed, and there will be opportunities for discussion with DelDOT representatives.
The Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is composed of representatives from state, county and local governments, and citizen and technical representatives. Mandated by 29 Delaware Code, SubSection 8409, the hearings are designed to ensure that the public has ample opportunity to participate in the planning process. The Council on Transportation is composed of citizen representatives from every county in the state. Members are appointed by the Governor.
These meeting locations are accessible to persons having disabilities.
