TRAFFIC ALERT - New Ramp along Southbound I-95 (Exit 8) onto Southbound U.S. Route 202 will Open
Wilmington -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is advising the traveling public that the new ramp, currently in construction, from I-95 southbound to U.S. 202 southbound will be opened to motorists Tuesday, June 25.
This new ramp is part of the reconfiguration of the I-95/Route 202 Interchange Project. This phase of the project also includes a new traffic signal where the exit ramp intersects with Route 202. To educate the traveling public, effective Friday, June 21, the signal will first be activated as a flash operated traffic signal. Once the new exit ramp is open, the signal will be converted to a full "red-yellow-green" stop and go operation.
Variable message boards will be placed notifying motorists of the reconfigured exit as well as the new signal along Route 202. The message boards along U.S. Route 202 northbound and southbound will remain in place 10 days after the ramp is open advising the public of the new signal.
