Public Workshop - SR 1 Widening, SR 273 to the Roth Bridge
Dover -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) will be holding a public workshop to obtain comments from surrounding businesses and the general public for the Route 1 Widening, Route 273 to the Roth Bridge Project. The project limits will extend from north of Route 273 to the Roth Bridge spanning the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal (C & D Canal). The workshop will be held on Thursday, April 18, at the Kathleen H. Wilbur Elementary School, 4050 Wrangle Hill Road in Bear. The public is invited to attend.
There will be a brief PowerPoint presentation explaining the project beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The project consists of widening Route 1 from north of Route 273 to the Roth Bridge, by adding a travel lane in each direction, widening existing bridges to accommodate the addition of the travel lanes, and reconfiguring the existing supporting interchanges.
The proposed widening and associated interchange work is needed to address congestion, improve system connectivity, improve safety at high crash locations, ensure emergency access and evacuation, and provide support and local access for existing and committed development in New Castle County.
Interested persons are invited to express their views in writing, giving reasons for support of, or in opposition to, the proposed project. Comments will be received during the workshop or can be mailed to DelDOT Public Relations, P.O. Box 778, Dover, DE 19903 or sent via email to email@example.com.
This location is accessible to persons having disabilities. Any person having special needs or requiring special aid, such as an interpreter for the hearing impaired, is requested to contact DelDOT by phone or mail one week in advance.
