Gumboro -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that a portion of Route 26/Millsboro Highway between Collins Road and Daisy Road will be closed for the replacement of the bridge over Gum Branch near Gumboro. The road will be closed at 7 a.m. on Monday, February 11 until 4 p.m. on Friday, April 5, pending weather.

This project involves the replacement of the existing corrugated metal pipes with a precast concrete three-sided frame. Additional work includes minor reconstruction of the roadway approach, installation of the guardrail as needed, and placement of riprap in the stream to prevent further erosion.

The contractor for these improvements is Zack Excavating Inc., of Smyrna, Delaware.

Signage will be posted in advance to advise motorists of the upcoming closure and detour routes.
