Press Release -- February 04, 2013
DelDOT Prepares for Possible Snow Event

One to two inches of snow possible throughout Delaware

Dover -- Since weather forecasts are calling for up to an inch or more of snow late this evening, several hundred crew members from the Delaware Department of Transportation will begin reporting to work after rush hour traffic is over.

If conditions are worse than forecast, more staff will be mobilized tonight.

Even an inch of snow can make the roads slick and can cause crashes. For this reason, DelDOT asks motorists to please complete their driving by 8 p.m. or so tonight, if possible. DelDOT crews are better able to address snowy road conditions when traffic is light.

Drivers are urged to use caution, especially by reducing their speed and driving carefully on bridges and overpasses, and on ramps and turn lanes.
