Holiday Drivers Enjoyed Stress-Free Travel Through Delaware's Toll Plazas

Dover -- Holiday travelers that passed through Delaware's three main toll plaza locations on State Route 1 or Interstate 95 were part of the millions of American's making trips to Grandma's house or to find shopping bargains. Motorists passing through the highway speed E-ZPass lanes and cash lanes at Delaware toll facilities experienced a smooth trip during the Christmas and New Year holiday period.

Beginning on Christmas Eve, over 60,700 vehicle trips were counted at the I-95 Newark Plaza, while more than 63,500 vehicle trips were counted at the Dover and Biddle's Corner locations on Route 1. To bring in the New Year, a total of 141,768 vehicles passed through Delaware's toll plazas, slightly less than last year's total of 144,306 vehicles. It is estimated that over $1.9 million in revenue was collected during the Holiday at Delaware toll plazas.
