Press Release -- December 03, 2012
TRAFFIC ALERT - New Signal on Route 8/Halltown Road and Route 44/Hartly Road Intersection to Become Operational

Beginning Friday, December 7

Dover -- The Department of Transportation (DelDOT) advises motorists that a new traffic signal at the Route 8/Halltown Road and Route 44/Hartly Road intersection is scheduled to be activated (pending weather conditions) after the morning rush hour on Friday, December 7.

The signal will be activated in a flash operation. In Delaware, typically new traffic signals are initially put in flash operation for at least three days to indicate to motorists that a new signal is in place and to be prepared for the change in traffic operations to a fully cycling traffic signal. After the "alert period" the signal will be converted to full "red-yellow-green" stop and go operation during the week of December 10, 2012.

Variable Message signs (VMS) will advise motorists in advance of the new traffic pattern.
