Press Release -- November 07, 2012
Update on Prime Hook Road

Road expected to reopen this evening

Sussex -- Due to today's storm and high tide, Prime Hook Road has been closed with barricades by DelDOT. The road is currently covered by approximately one foot of water.

DelDOT has an agreement in place until November 30 for emergency access to Prime Hook from North Bay Shore Drive over private property.

DelDOT has contacted the owners and expects to reopen the gate this evening.

The temporary access obtained to Prime Hook by DelDOT is due to the extraordinary storm conditions of the last two weeks, and should not be construed as a permanent remedy to the flooding of Prime Hook Road.

Also, DelDOT continues to monitor possible flooding on Route 1, near the Indian River Inlet Bridge.
