Preliminary Surface Survey of the Frederica By-Pass.

Prepared by the Delaware Archaeology Board. Delaware Department of Transportation Archaeology Series No. 3.

This report presents the results of a preliminary survey of the proposed Frederica By-Pass. The report is rather informal. In essence, it is a compilation of the survey field notes and lists of the recovered artifacts. A range of prehistoric and historic artifacts were recovered. The prehistoric artifacts included lithic and ceramic fragments from unspecified periods, but probably represent Archaic through Woodland occupations. The features included postholes and pit-like features. The historic artifacts consisted mostly of ceramic and glass fragments from unspecified periods. No summary interpretation or analysis is provided.
